Contenidos

 The on-site training program at the school develops practical life skills to deal with people’s individual needs when being guided outdoors. During role plays, students will assume the function of a guide as the others participate as clients, later providing feedback on the guide’s communication, leadership, safety and group management skills. A strong emphasis is placed on this particular aspect of the program.

Contents of our programs:

    * Techniques for minimal impact on the surroundings
    * Camping techniques (living outdoors)
    * Skills and methods of traveling and living comfortably outdoors
    * First-aid for outdoor activities
    * Safety and Risk Management applied to outdoor activities
    * Leadership and team work
    * Communication and working with others
    * Tourist psychology for outdoor activities
    * Legal and legislative aspects of outdoor tourism
    * Protected natural areas and territorial characteristics
    * Local culture and history
    * Use of maps and orientation
    * Biodiversity and nature conservation
    * Geomorphology of the landscape
    * Environmental interpretation
    * Specialized techniques outdoors (trekking, climbing, rafting, fly fishing, mountaineering, skiing, kayak, riding, horse training)
    * Project formulation and administration
    * Business organization and administration of ecotourism
    * Business planning, as a tool for the development of professional projects

 

The program also includes activities not directly supervised, but which are nevertheless evaluated and commented on by the instructors and tutors. Among these are:

    * Tasks and investigations for the home base
    * Soloing in nature
    * Professional involvement with a tourist business and completing work as a guide
    * Tourist trips (in which the students should go and test out tourist services from the perspective of a tourist).
